Announcement of Achievements: GDE Secures Multiple Awards at the 2025 National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Awards Edit Date:2025/12/16
Recently, the list of winners of the 2025 National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Awards organized by the China Exploration & Design Association (CEDA) was officially announced. Relying on its solid technical strength and outstanding innovative design capabilities, GDE won three awards covering the sugar-making, beer, and environmental protection sectors, demonstrating a sound momentum of synergistic development across multiple industries.
The National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Award is the highest national-level honor in the field, aiming to promote technological progress in the engineering survey and design industry. Covering multiple areas including excellent engineering survey and excellent engineering design, the award features a wide selection scope, high technical requirements, and strong representativeness. The evaluation criteria incorporate innovation in industry development, economic benefits, and social benefits during project implementation.
Santa Buenaventura Sugar Mill Project in Bolivia
First Prize in Light Industry Engineering Design
Located in La Paz Department in northeastern Bolivia, the project covers a total land area of 277,600 square meters. It includes a 7,000 TCD (Tonnes Cane per Day) sugarcane sugar production line and a 100,000 liters per day alcohol production line. Adhering to the core design concept of ”intensive development, clean production, and resource recycling,” the project constructs an ecological industrial chain through compact layout and advanced processes, striving to achieve the organic unity of comprehensive resource utilization, energy conservation, environmental protection, and sustainable development. Empowered by technological innovation for modernized production, the project adopts advanced process systems and equipment, coupled with a DCS (Distributed Control System) automated control system, comprehensively improving production efficiency and process control capabilities. It realizes full resource utilization of production by-products, successfully establishing a modern sugar-making benchmark characterized by high efficiency, low carbon, energy conservation, and full-process controllability.
As a former sugar and alcohol design institute directly under the Ministry of Light Industry of China, GDE boasts a long history and profound heritage in the sugar-making field. It has hosted China’s first batch of domestically designed, manufactured, and installed sugar mills both at home and abroad as foreign aid projects, and participated in the construction of most sugar mills since the founding of New China, witnessing the initiation, development, and eventual glory of China’s sugar-making industry. GDE’s sugar mill projects span domestic and international markets, having won numerous national-level awards such as the National Excellent Design Award and National Quality Silver Award. It has also compiled and edited several industry and national standards including the ”Code for Sugar Production Engineering Projects” and ”Code for Design of Sugarcane Sugar Mills.”
AB InBev Sedrin Beer Co., Ltd. Relocation Project
Second Prize in Light Industry Engineering Design
Situated in Putian, Fujian, the project covers a total land area of approximately 1,200 mu (equivalent to 800,000 square meters) with a planned total capacity of 2.4 million kiloliters of beer per year, making it the largest beer production capacity construction project in China to date. Guided by the core design concept of ”intelligent manufacturing and lean operation,” the project adopts advanced automated and intelligent equipment and systems in the industry, building a world-class beer manufacturing plant that is highly automated, intelligent, and intensive from raw materials to finished product delivery.
In the beer-making field, GDE is China’s earliest enterprise engaged in professional design and R&D of beer engineering. It has long been committed to promoting the localization of professional beer equipment and large-scale production in the beer industry, helping modernize China’s beer technology to catch up with and surpass the world’s advanced level. Having completed more than 400 beer factory projects at home and abroad, GDE has won numerous national and ministerial-level excellent engineering awards. It has also taken the lead in compiling important industry and national standards such as the ”Code for Design of Beer Factories” and ”Beer Industry Handbook,” establishing a benchmark position in the technical field of the beer-making industry.
Changsha Domestic Waste Advanced Comprehensive Treatment (Clean Incineration) Project
Third Prize in Municipal Public Engineering Design
Located in Qiaoyi Town, Wangcheng District, Changsha, the project covers a total land area of approximately 98,700 square meters. With a domestic waste treatment capacity of 5,000 tons per day, it is equipped with 6 waste incinerator production lines (each with a processing capacity of 850 tons per day) and 4 sets of 25-megawatt steam turbine generator units, totaling an installed capacity of 100 megawatts and a designed annual operating hour of 8,000 hours. Upon completion, the project set a record as the largest project of its kind in China and has previously won awards such as the China Construction Engineering Luban Award (National Quality Project).
In the field of waste incineration power generation, GDE has been deeply engaged for more than 30 years. It has established a professional technical team led by survey and design masters in the light industry, professor-level senior engineers, and doctors. Having completed over 400 projects at home and abroad, GDE is at the forefront of the industry in terms of project scale, operational parameters, and the application of multiple cutting-edge technologies. It has won numerous important national-level awards including the Luban Award and Zhan Tianyou Award.
