Deepening Exchanges, Seeking Cooperation | Nigerian Delegation Led by Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment Visits GDE for Exchange Edit Date:2026/06/03
Recently, a delegation led by John Owan Enoh, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, visited GDE for inspection and exchange. The two sides held in depth discussions on topics including the localisation of Nigeria’s sugar industry and the modernisation of its food and beverage sector. The delegation included Nwofoh Jonas Ugochukwu, Trade and Investment Consul of the Consulate General of Nigeria in Guangzhou; Eric Yongnkire, Chairman of Jono Concepts Nigeria Limited; and Cao Qingwei, Deputy General Manager of Lujieshi (Guangdong) Supply Chain Co., Ltd., along with other government and business representatives.
Zheng Yining, Assistant General Manager of Sinolight Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “ Sinolight”) and Director of its International Business Management Centre, and Luo Jun, Vice President of China Haisum Engineering Co., Ltd., attended the exchange activities. GDE’s Party Secretary and Chairman Li Zhenzhou and General Manager Zhang Chengfeng also participated in the discussions.
During the symposium, Zheng Yining extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He noted that China and Nigeria share a deep traditional friendship and a long history of economic and trade exchanges, and that Nigeria is an important partner of China in Africa for economic and trade cooperation. Sinolight has been deeply engaged in livelihood industries such as light industry and environmental energy for many years, possessing a full industry chain R&D platform and technical advantages, as well as mature engineering construction experience and extensive overseas project practices. He pointed out that GDE, as a core backbone enterprise under Sinoligh in the light industry sectors of sugar, food and beverage, etc., has comprehensive engineering construction and operation experience covering the entire process and all scenarios, and is a benchmark Chinese enterprise in the “going global” of sugar engineering.Sinolight is willing to adhere to the principles of mutual benefit, win win cooperation and practical collaboration, fully leveraging its technical, engineering and resource integration advantages across the entire industry chain to help Nigeria improve its local industrial chain and enhance industrial modernisation, empower local industrial transformation and upgrading, and, with regard to the implementation of relevant sugar plant projects, put forward targeted solution proposals based on the resource strengths of Sinolight, China Haisum and GDE.
John Owan Enoh expressed his gratitude for GDE’s warm reception and professional sharing. He stated that economic and trade cooperation between China and Nigeria has a solid foundation and enormous potential. Sinolight and its subsidiaries China Haisum and GDE possess leading technical capabilities and mature engineering implementation capacity, which can provide important support for Nigeria’s industrial transformation and development in light industry and other sectors. He highly recognised GDE’s technical advantages and project achievements in the fields of sugar and food & beverage, and expressed the hope to introduce China’s advanced sugar engineering technology, modern industrial management systems, and mature operational experience. He looked forward to continuously expanding the areas of cooperation and deepening practical industrial collaboration between the two sides, jointly creating a benchmark project of high quality China Nigeria light industry cooperation, and particularly expected GDE to provide deeper and more comprehensive professional technical support for the implementation of relevant projects.
During the exchange, Zhang Chengfeng gave a systematic presentation to the delegation on GDE’s overall profile, core business, and overseas engineering capabilities. The head of the Light Industry & Food Business Department delivered a special presentation on GDE’s technical strengths, engineering practices and representative projects in the sugar industry. The delegation also visited GDE’s exhibition hall, where they learned in detail about GDE’s development history, technical expertise, and global benchmark projects in sugar, food & beverage and other fields, and spoke highly of GDE’s comprehensive strength and achievements in international development.
The delegation included the Special Advisor on Administration to the Minister of State for Industry, the Chief of Protocol, and the Director of the Industrial Development Department; representatives from Lujieshi (Guangdong) Supply Chain Co., Ltd.; as well as Zhao Yuanfang, Manager of ‘s Sinolight International Business Management Centre, Liu Zuoxun, Deputy General Manager of GDE, and heads of relevant departments and core business personnel from GDE, all of whom participated in the exchange activities.
