Great News: Wuhai Boiler Retrofit Project Passes Hydraulic Pressure Test with Zero Defects Under Special Inspection and Wins Special Commendation from the Owner Edit Date:2026/07/08

Recently, the Waste-to-Energy Boiler Retrofit Project in Wuhai City, EPC-contracted by GDE, successfully completed the overall hydrostatic pressure test of the waste heat boiler. The test was conducted under the full on-site supervision and inspection of the Wuhai Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute, and the project passed the inspection on the first attempt. In recognition of GDE’s strong technical expertise, high-quality construction standards, and outstanding project execution capabilities, the Employer issued a formal letter of commendation, fully demonstrating GDE’s comprehensive strength in EPC contracting.

The project is a key environmental protection and public welfare initiative under Wuhai City’s “Zero-Waste City” program. The scope of work includes the demolition of the existing outdated circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler and the construction of a new 600 t/d mechanical grate incineration system together with a supporting waste heat recovery system. Upon commissioning, the project will significantly reduce fly ash disposal costs while delivering substantial environmental, economic, and social benefits.

Since project commencement, GDE project team has proactively addressed multiple challenges, including strong winds and blowing sand, large day-night temperature fluctuations, complex interface management arising from concurrent construction activities, and a tight construction schedule. Through scientific planning of the overall construction program, meticulous execution, and closed-loop project management, the team has advanced all construction activities with high standards and stringent quality requirements.

The hydrostatic pressure test covered 6,200 welded joints, achieving zero leakage and no residual deformation. All inspection results fully complied with the applicable special equipment regulations and design specifications, and the test successfully passed the official supervisory inspection on the first attempt.

Moving forward, GDE project team will continue to implement refined project management practices, optimize resource allocation, and strictly control key construction milestones to ensure high-quality project delivery and timely commissioning. GDE remains committed to supporting Wuhai City’s “Zero-Waste City” initiative and promoting the region’s green and low-carbon development.
