Interim Report Review Meeting for the Research Project on the Applicability and Application of China’s Engineering Construction Standards in ASEAN Industrial Projects Successfully Convened at GDE Edit Date：2026/07/24

Recently, the interim report review meeting for the research project titled “Applicability and Application of China’s Engineering Construction Standards in ASEAN Industrial Projects” was successfully convened at GDE. Following rigorous verification of deliverables, consolidated deliberation, and comprehensive assessment, the expert review panel unanimously approved the project’s passage of the interim review. As the lead organization of this project, GDE assumed full responsibility for the organization of the meeting and the implementation of the project.

Distinguished invited leaders and review experts from the Institute of Standard Quota Research of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, along with expert representatives from partner organizations including China Light Industry Changsha Engineering Co., Ltd. (CEC), China Zhongqing International Engineering Co., Ltd.，. (CLIEC), China Railway Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd. International Engineering Branch, China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC), and COFCO International Engineering (Zhengzhou) Co., Ltd., as well as GDE leadership and principal investigators of each specialty, totaling over 30 attendees, participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Zhang Chengfeng, General Manager of GDE, extended a warm welcome to the attending leaders and experts, and expressed sincere gratitude to all partner organizations for their substantial support and close collaboration throughout the project in areas such as research surveys, technical seminars, and resource coordination. He stated that as the lead organization of the project, GDE would faithfully fulfill its leading responsibilities, coordinate and align the efforts of all partner organizations, strictly implement the recommendations and opinions put forward by the attending leaders and review experts, continuously refine the research outcomes, produce a high-quality research report, and make every effort to facilitate the better entry and integration of China’s construction industry into the ASEAN market.

The project principal investigator delivered a detailed report covering the research background, research objectives, technical approach, research process, the phase-specific research outcomes achieved to date, and the work plan for the upcoming stage. The attending review experts unanimously concurred that the project features precise topic selection closely aligned with industry development trends, and is highly responsive to the practical needs of Chinese engineering enterprises seeking to expand and deepen their presence in the ASEAN market while promoting the export of Chinese standards. The interim report was commended for its scientifically sound and clearly defined research methodology, its well-focused and prioritized content, and its rigorous logical reasoning. The interim deliverables fully satisfy the project’s mid-term review criteria.

Looking ahead, GDE will further consolidate its primary responsibility as the project lead organization, strictly benchmark against the project completion requirements and expert recommendations, and collaborate with all partner organizations to identify gaps, refine and elaborate the research, and continue to deepen the applicability study of China’s engineering construction standards in ASEAN industrial projects. GDE remains committed to continuously improving the research framework and enriching the research outputs, thereby laying a solid technical foundation for advancing the internationalization of China’s engineering standards and contributing robust support to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
